Is you skin ready for SUMMER?

How are you all?

Sand and sun, summer has begun. Yes it’s summer (really hot and humid in India) and the skin feels irritating, sticky etc, I know the feeling. What to do with your skin? Should you keep it hydrated? Should you keep it dry? What to do? Find out the answers here.

On my observations there are a few things you can do (mine is basically dry skin). It does not take much of your time, just include it in your daily routine.

1. Wash your face regularly:

With SUMMER comes sweat and a sticky feel and so do pimples and spots. Wash your face with a face was that has pimple-fighting ingredients. Neem and lemon are also known to help in keeping pimples at bay. It might not banish the spot right away, but it can help to prevent spreading germs and reduces redness.

2. Keep it moisturized :

Keep your face and body moisturized. Apply the moisturizers once in the morning and once before you sleep in the night. It keeps your skin healthy and prevents rashes caused due to heat.

3. Apply sunscreen:

It is very important to apply sunscreen on your face and the body parts that are exposed to direct sunlight. Use an SPF 45 sunscreen. It prevents tanning and sun burns. 

4. Drink a lot of water:

Drinking a lot of water helps your body to retain the moisture content in the skin even if you sweat and drain the moisture out. It keeps your skin healthy and keeps you active throughout the day

5. Eat food items that has antioxidants:

 So what does the food we eat have to do with sun damage. Right? Well, antioxidants are molecules present in the food that we eat that are good and healthy for your skin as they fight the free radicals produced by the skin when exposed to the sun.

6.Eat citrus fruits:

Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, sweet lemon, limes and grapefruits, in addition to tangerines and pomelos. Citrus fruits are refreshing and keeps your body and skin cool in summer. They even contain antioxidants and are rich in vitamin C which helps in providing glow to the skin and rejuvenates it.
