I hope you guys had a wonderful Valentine ’s Day.
I’ve posted about fashion and beauty recently and it’s time for some health tips now. Today I’m putting up a post mentioning the benefits of drinking water more often.
Water is the main component of human body. Human body is composed of about 75% of water depending on the body type. Regular water consumption has numerous healthy benefits. An added plus is that it has no calories, fat, carbohydrates or sugar. Drinking of about eight to ten glasses of water each day will help you maintain good health.
- Relieves fatigue:
If you often feel tired, there is a chance that it could be due to insufficient amount of water consumption. Fatigue is one of the primary signs of dehydration.
- Treats headaches and migraines:
If you have headache or migraine, the first thing you can do to get some relief is drink plenty of water, then eat something lightly. This definitely works for me. Headaches and migraines are mostly caused by dehydration.
- Helps in digestion:
Drinking sufficient amount of water boosts your metabolism and helps the body properly break down food. This helps your digestive system work well. Warm water in particular is good for digestive health.
- Aids weight loss:
Drinking two glasses of water prior to meals help suppress appetite and hence supports weight loss efforts. When you drink water, it fills your stomach and reduced the tendency to eat more. Plus, it also increases the rate at which body burns fat. If losing those calories are so easy then why not?
- Regulates body temperature:
The thermal properties of water and its ability to release heat from the body when sweat evaporates from the skin, greatly helps maintain an even body temperature. A well-regulated body temperature also will make you feel more energetic when exercising.
- Promotes healthy skin:
Water keeps the body well hydrated, which promotes healthier and younger looking skin. Water helps moisturize skin and increases the elasticity of the skin.
- Relieves hangover:
Drinking water works effectively to get rid of hangover. Alcohol causes you to pee much more than you take in. Water helps rehydrate your body and speed up recovery. Drink 16 to 20 ounces of water before bed the day you have had too much alcohol.
- Beats bad breath:
Bad breath is a clear sign that you may not be drinking sufficient water. Water keeps your mouth moist and washes away food particles and bacteria. So, drink sufficient amount of water and rinse your mouth with water especially after having a meal or snack.
- Water helps your kidneys:
Drinking lot of water provides more fluid content to your body. When you’re getting enough fluids urine flows freely, is light in colour and free of odour.
- Reduces stress:
All the body organs including our brain, heart and kidneys require sufficient amount of body fluids to function regularly. Inadequate amount of water in the body causes dehydration which in turn causes stress so drinking a lot of water reduces stress.
I know drinking water every time won’t be possible, so you can have a beverage with every meal or snack, eat more vegetables and fruits, try keeping a bottle of water in your car, bag or your work place/ study place.
I hope you guys found this post useful. Drink water regularly and stay healthy. I’ll be writing again soon until then “forgive people and forget their mistakes because staying happy is more important”
Stay happy and keep smiling. Lots of love.
